You will be surprised to know that per capita income of Korea is $ 45,000 while ours is just $ 1400-1500. About 19 Korean companies are working in Pakistan and are very satisfied. Same is the case is with all multinational companies operational in Pakistan. This is all about improvement in peace and security situation that boosted the investor confidence.

Leadership is about assessing the situation correctly and defining a vision, daring to dream big and then bringing other people together to believe in your dream and willingly follow you. Leadership in higher education is a very complex role. One needs to wear multiple hats and multitask at all times. The stakeholders are very diverse i.e. potential and current students, parents, donors, alumni, government, the social sector, other higher education institutes (local and international), administrative staff and the faculty to name a few. Each has a specific role and requirements. Defining an agenda that suits everyone’s interests is crucial yet challenging.

No doubt that Pakistan is suffering from energy crisis and this is also affecting even the living standards of people at grassroots level. So, there are many power projects under the CPEC, ie Nuclear, Hydro, Thermal, Wind, and Solar. Out of $46 billion, almost $28 billion are for power projects. Solar power plant in Punjab, wind, coal and nuclear power plants in Sindh, Hydel power plants in KPK and Azad Kashmir will be built under CPEC only. So I hope that by completion of these projects Pakistan will overcome her power crisis.

Political stability and economic growth are intrinsically linked with each other. China, having been the most populous country of the world, has emerged as world’s second largest economy by embracing the principles of political stability and social solidarity. Unfortunately, Political stability in Pakistan has remained elusive since independence. The schismatic relationship between civil and military administration, confusion over the role of religion in country, martial laws, adverse relations with neighboring countries etc were the reasons for lurking political instability and increasing reliance on the policy of adhocism in Pakistan.
